A very pretty three storey stone cottage in excellent condition with charming enclosed walled garden and separate barn, set in the heart of a tranquil village on the east Tonnerrois border.

The house was recently renovated but still retains its traditional charm, including many original features, such as oak beams and stone walls, whilst offering all modern comforts, such as full central heating, well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, electric hob and oven, microwave and fridge/freezer.

 

The accommodation includes an open plan living area, with spacious kitchen/dining area, which comfortably seats 8 people, and a comfortable raised lounge area with leather furniture, wood burning fire and Flat-screen TV (with UK satellite TV). WiFi broadband is also available.

There are five bedrooms set on two floors and the large bathroom has twin wash hand basins, power shower and Jacuzzi bath. There is a separate loo. Bed linen and towels are included in the price.

The pretty walled south facing courtyard style garden is graveled with flower borders and has an old stone well (filled in, so perfectly safe), and a separate stone barn housing logs for the log burner. The outdoor dining terrace, with wooden dining furniture, comfortably seats 10 people there is a covered barbecue area, with charcoal barbecue.

Local shops including boulangerie and small supermarket are 5 minutes drive away in Laignes and a bread van calls in the village daily (except Mondays). The cottage is set in a very pretty, peaceful rural village in beautiful open countryside. The area is criss-crossed by rivers and canals and is ideally located for visiting the famous vineyards of Burgundy, Chablis and the champagne region.
